Sylvia has a strong background in employment and labor law. After working for a high-volume firm representing employees in such disputes, Sylvia chose to represent businesses in complying with employment and labor laws as well as general business matters. She represents clients in wage and hour disputes, involving claims of unpaid wages, unpaid overtime, missed meal and rest breaks and unreimbursed business expenses. In addition to these general wage claims, Ms. Halbo also has experience in wrongful termination cases, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and breach of contract. Ms. Halbo’s background in employment allows her to counsel employers on day-to-day employment policies and procedures, hiring and firing practices, and proper compliance of all wage and hour laws.
Ms. Halbo is also a Volunteer Mediator through the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Probate Mediation program, assisting parties in each alternative resolution in both Guardianship and Conservatorship cases.
